The wrong blame game
BNP has been delegated in a very ignoble way, out of 299 seats, they managed to get only 32 seats. It is very unfortunate, the party which came to power twice, formed government with majority votes.
Three factors contributed to the defeat, first corruption, second the issue of the trial of war criminals and third, the price hike of the essentials.
But I think the last two issues should not have influenced the election. About the war criminals, Sheikh Hasina was also in power, she did not take any steps and in 1971 Sheikh Mujibur Rahman showed clemency. Recently, war crimes came in the forefront and have been drilled in the peoples minds, the new and yound voters, who do not know the real facts became angry and refrained from voting for BNP
A great number of people who are ignorant of the existing situation, blamed Khaleda Zia for the sky rocketing price of essential commodities, but it is not the fault of BNP, the caretaker government is responsible for it.
Anyway, Awami League has won, we have to wait and see how it deals with all the problems
