Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Joypurhat Safiqul Islam in a function today said the present government is fully determined to hold free and transparent national election on December 29 to build a corruption, anarchy and terrorism-free society.

All necessary legal measures will be ensured to present an acceptable general election wherein people's expectation will be properly reflected.

DC Safiqul Islam said this in an inaugural function of election training for the presiding officers, assistant presiding officers and polling officers organised by Khetlal Upazila Administration in the upazila auditorium of the Khetlal Upazila in the district as the chief guest.

Giving the emphasis on holding a free, fair and credible polls, the DC called upon the officials concerned to discharge their duties with complete neutrality, Outmost honesty and sincerity rising above all sorts of fear, greed and influences.

Presided over by UNO Numery Iman, the function was also addressed, among others, by District Election Officer Saiful Islam, ADC (g) Zulfikar Ali Haidary.

A total of 33 presiding officers, 165 assistant presiding officers and 330 polling officers participated in the training.
