NSU holds Int'l Conference on Statistical Sciences STAFF REPORTER North South University (NSU), the first private university in Bangladesh, has organized a two-day International Conference on Statistical Sciences "Recent Development in Statistical Sciences" starting today at Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC). International and national renowned professors, researchers, expertise and dignitaries will attend the conference, a press release said. The opening ceremony of the conference will be held today at 9.30am at BCFCC. Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, will be present at the opening ceremony as chief guest which vice chancellor of the NSU Dr Hafiz G.A. Siddiqi will chair the session. The closing ceremony of the conference will be held on 27 December at 7.00pm at Hotel Sarina (Banani). Professor Nazrul Islam, chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, will be present in the closing ceremony as chief guest. Dr. Shahjahan Khan, professor of University of Southern Queensland, Australia, Dr. AK Md. Ehsanes Saleh, Professor, Carleton University, Canada, Dr. M. Shamsher Ali, President of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences, NSU Foundation Chairman Mr. M A Awal, Vice Chancellor of NSU Dr. Hafiz G.A. Siddiqi and CPDS and BBA Director of NSU Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury and other will attend the opening and also closing ceremony, among others, the press release added.
