Minor boy killed in Pirojpur road mishap

Pirojpur, Dec 23 : A minor boy was run over by a bus at Ranipur crossing in the town on Tuesday morning. The dead was identified as Nayan Sheikh, 8, son of Kalam Sheikh of Tona union in Sadar upazila of the district. Local sources said a Pirojpur Sadar-bound bus from Bekutia crushed Nayan soon after he along with his mother got down from another bus at the crossing at about 10 am. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.

Firearms seized in Chuadanga

Chuadanga, Dec 23 : RAB personnel seized five firearms from Maheshpur village in Alamdanga upazila early Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, members of RAB-6 raided the village and recovered two pipe guns and three shutter guns wrapped with polythene in a local graveyard at about 5 am. But, none was arrested in this connection, reports UNB.

Trader slaughtered in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj, Dec 23 : A transport trader was slaughtered at Chouddhashata village in sadar upazila Sunday night. The dead was identified as Harun ur Rashid, of Goruhata village of Hossainpur upazila. Family sources said Harun went missing since he went out of his father-in-law's house near rail station of the town Sunday evening. Being informed by the local people police recovered the body of Harun from a paddy field and sent to hospital morgue. The motive behind the killing could not be known, reports UNB..

Bomb-like objects recovered in Natore

Natore, Dec 23 : Police recovered three bomb-like objects at Shalika Fakirnighat in Singra upazila Tuesday morning. Police recovered the bomb-like objects in an abandoned condition. Police said these might have been kept there for creating panic, reports UNB.

One killed in Munshiganj road accident

Munshiganj, Dec 23 : An unidentified youth who was seriously injured in a road accident on Sunday night died at Bhaberchar health complex in Gozaria upazila here Monday. Police recovered the youth from Bausia in Gozaria upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway Sunday night with serious wound and admitted him to Bhaberchar health complex where he succumbed to his injuries. The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.

Minor boy strangulated in Sherpur

Sherpur, Dec 23 : A minor boy was strangulated to death at Khicha village in Nakla upazila on Sunday. Police said Hridoy, 7, son of Abdus Sattar, was missing on Sunday morning from his maternal grandfather's house at Urfa village. His body was found in a bush at neighbouring Khicha village the next day. One Muslimuddin was arrested in connection with the killing. Police said the victim's father and Muslimuddin's brother had a long standing dispute over money transaction that might be the sequel to the killing, reports UNB.
