More than fifty workers and supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami led by Farid Molla, a Rokan (grade-1 member) of JI joined the AL at a gathering held on uttara union Haji Taher College of Uzirpur yesterday.

They explained that they decided to leave anti-liberation JI and join the AL to work for Alhaj Manirul Islam Moni, AL candidate for Barisal-2 (Uzirpur-Banaripara) as pro-liberation forces candidate.

Bazlur Rahman Bachchu, district secretary and Aminul Islam Khasru, city secretary of JI, said that they were not aware of such joining and has no 'Rokan' named Farid Molla in Uzirpur upazila.
