A workshop on Translucent Ballot Box (TBB) to be used in upcoming ninth Parliamentary and 3rd Upazila parishad election was held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner (DCC) here on December 5 with. DC Abu Muhammad Yousuf in the chair.

District Administration organised it under Public Information Camping programme proposed by UNDP and approved by Election Commission Secretariat, sources said.

The specific paper on the issue was read out by District Election Officer Syed Ali Imam who also narrated and showed the techniques of using the TBB to the participants elaborately.

The DC in his speech said this TBB would play an important and assertive role to ensure the transparency and acceptability of the electioning process The introduction of TBB would be considered as one of the epoch-making discussion and steps of Bangladesh Election Commission in future, he also said.

More than 50 district level officers, leaders of different professional groups and the journalists attended the workshop.
