Rabeya to be screened on ATN Bangla today

The premier show of the government funded full-length feature film 'Rabeya' will be screened today, fifth day of the Eid-ul-Azha, on ATN Bangla at 1:30pm.

Directed by Tanvir Mokammel, the story and the script have also been written Tanvir. Bonya Mirza, Aly Zaker, Taukir Ahmed, Arman Parvez Murad, Abul Hayat, Masum Aziz, Keramat Mawla, Chitralekha Guha, Abdul Aziz, Vaskor Bondopaddhya, Geetashri Chowdhury, Joyotika Jyoti, Uttam Guha, Rana Masud, among others, performed in the film.

Story of Rabeya:

The incident took place at the fag end of the of the liberation war in 1971 at Ibrahimpur village on the bank of river Rupsa.

A group of the Pakistani occupation forces had set up a camp in the village and they dug a bunker on the bank of the river. Two daughters of late Altaf Kazi- Rabeya and Rokeya -were staying at the house of the Peace Committee chairman Emdad Kazi. Emdad Kazi wanted that his son Tariqul marry Rabeya. Two daughters had lone brother Khaled, who had been studying in a college and later he joined the Liberation War.

At the end of war when the freedom fighters were returning to the village Ibrahimpur, suddenly when a bullet of the Pakistani occupation forces pierced through his chest bring an end to the life of Khaled. Emdad Kazi and a Pakistani captain ordered villagers not to bury the body of Khaled. They also ordered them to throw the body on the dam of the river so that villagers would be frightened seeing the body.

Rabeya was asked to look after the body of his brother, but she tried to bury the body of her brother defying the order of Pakistani forces. Then she was also killed by the Pakistani occupation forces. Freedom fighters then announced her martyred.

Onek Kartik Ekti Agrahayan today

Short film 'Onek Kartik Ekti Agrahayan' to be aired on Channel i at 12:35pm today as a part of the Eid programmes. Anisul Haque has scripted the film, while Shahnewaz Kakoli has directed it. It is a digital format film. Sharmin Zoha Shoshi and Ashish Khondaker have performed as the lead roles, while Aksar Ali, Firoz Chowdhury, Hosne Ara, Moshiur Rahman, among others, have performed in the film. There are two songs in the film composed by Emon Saha. Kanak Aditya has rendered one song and local baul artistes rendered other one. Moshiur Rahman was in camera direction.

Story of Onek Kartik Ekti Agrahayan:

The story of the film is based on livelihood of the people of 'Monga' region. In the story Mohammad Ali is a day labourer.

His family members wait for Agrahayan to harvest paddy. But 'Monga' creates their livelihood immense tolerable.

They story focuses on a true picture of that region where most the localities have to pass their lives scarcity of foods.

3rd round of English debate competition to air soon

In order to crave-in intellectual society in Bangladesh, Bangladesh Television (BTV) has been making relentless efforts beside regular school curricula. Towards that end, National Television English Parliamentary Debate Competition is being regularly organised by the BTV.

In the second round Saint Xavier's Green Herald International School has beaten Foujdarhat Cadet College. Under the direction and planning of Hassan Ahamed Chowdhury Kiron, the subject of this competition is 'Liberty is the only test of mind.' In the selection round of this national level debate competition, 40 educational institutions across the country including English medium schools so far took part. Only 16 institutions will qualify into the third round through successfully achievements in the second round. Very soon the third round of the competition will commence. This fortnight competition is on air on BTV every Wednesday afternoon.

Special Eid drama 'Valobasar Panch Pa' to be aired on Channel 1 at 3:00pm today, fifth day of the Eid programmes. Ashrafi Mithu has scripted and directed the drama. Dr Enamul Haque, Wahida Mollik Jolly, Dinar, Hillol, Pirjada Harun, Biplob Prasad, among others, have performed in the drama.

Story of Valobasar Panch Pa:

Ali Mia is now 65 years old and has already completed 35 years of conjugal life. He married Ator Jan Bibi, only daughter of a wealthy person. From that time he has been living in his father-in-law's house. Though he is father of a son and a daughter, but his wife dominates on him. The story starts from here. Both son and daughter of Ali Mia have affairs. Ator Jan is trying to search bride and bridegroom for their son and daughter. Many interesting and comedy incidents take place in the drama.

Modhuren Somapoyet on NTV

Special Eid drama 'Modhuren Somapoyet' to be aired on NTV at 11:15pm today, fifth day of the Eid programmes. Ashfaq Nipun has written the story of the drama. He has also scripted it and gave direction. Singer Tahsan, models Mithila and Emi, Sami, Sithi, among others, have performed in the drama. Specialty of the drama is Tahsan and Mithila have performed together for the first time.

Story of Modhuren Somapoyet:

Hasan is a strident young man. He does not stay in one place for long time. Mila is a quiet person. She always maintains her life smoothly. She has planned what will be happened after 25 years of her life. The story of the drama is based on the two opposite characters.

Special Eid drama 'DVD' to be aired on NTV at 8:15pm today on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Diponkar Dipon has scripted and directed the drama where Toukir Ahmed, Sweety, Ishita, Anisur Rahman Milon, among others, have performed in the drama.

Story of DVD:

Once morning Khondaker Hasan became anger with the phone call from intercom. Guard of the apartment told him that somebody has brought a packet for him. Then the guard brought it to him. Khondaker recovered that there was a comment on the cover of the packet. He believed that it was charade. Then he opened the packet with seriously. When his wife asked him he avoided his wife in this matter. The story continued with many interesting incidents.
