Two alleged terrorists were killed in a gunfight between their a ccomplices and members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in city's Sabujbagh area yesterday, RAB officials claimed.

The terrorists were identified as Abdus Salam Sikder, 37, and Selim Miah32.

Abdus Salam Sikder, who was a resident of RK Mission Road in old Dhaka, was wanted in eight cases. Elim Miah, who was also residing in the same area, was wanted by police in a number of criminal cases, RAB sources said.

Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-10 raided Beer Shrestra Shaheed Sepahi Md Mostafa Kamal National Stadium at Kamalapur when the terrorists were holding a secret meeting at about 3:45am.

Sensing the presence of the RAB, the terrorists opened fire on them,forcing them to fire back that triggered a gun battle.

Salam and Selim were caught in the line of gunfire while trying to flee and died on the spot, RAB officials claimed.

RAB members recovered two foreign made pistols, one foreign made revolver and 126 rounds of bullet from the scene.
