Exhibition: Photography exhibition on natural disasters

A four-day photography competition and exhibition was inaugurated at the National Art Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the city on November 30.

Hope'87 and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in association with Bangladesh Photojournalists' Association organised the show.

Former adviser of the Caretaker government ASM Shahjahan inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest, while President of the National Press Club Shawkat Mahmud was present as special guest on the occasion.

David Hill, Head of ECHO, Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam, among others, were present at the inauguration.

Of 273 photographs, 116 were selected to contest in the competition. Then a 10-member jury board judged 10 best photographs for the exhibition.

The first winner received Tk 20,000, second winner received Tk 10,000, third received Tk 5,000 and the rest seven got Tk 3,000 each including crests and certificates. The first winner is AK Asad.

The exhibition ended yesterday.
