Rajshahi Division forces Chittagong Division to follow on

Rajshahi Division forced hosts Chittagong Division to follow on dismissing them for 80 runs in the first innings on the 2nd day of the four-day 7th round match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 10th National Cricket League at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Ruhul Amin Stadium in Chittagong Tuesday.

Replying to Rajshahi Division's first innings total of 240 runs, hosts Chittagong Division opened the first innings and were bundled out cheaply for just 80 runs in 49.1 overs with tail-ender Yasin Arafat making team highest 23 runs off 46 balls with a boundary.

Opener Arman Hossain (20), Nafees Iqbal (11) and pacer Tareq Aziz Khan (11) were the other three batsmen scoring double figures.

Spinner Suhrawardy Shuvo pocketed three wickets for 21 runs, pacer Shafiul Islam also claimed three wickets for 36 runs, Saqlain Sajib bagged two wickets for 3 runs while Mohammad Shahazada took two for 11 runs.

Later, Chittagong Division opened the 2nd innings and scored 89 for 2 in 40 overs when bails were drawn for the 2nd day today.

One down Masum ud Dowla was in batting with 34 runs off 73 balls featuring four fours while number four Tariq Ahmed also on the crease with 11 runs off 35 balls, including one boundary, after the departure of two openers -- Arman Hossain (24) and Nafees Iqbal (19).
