The Awami League-led electoral alliance may allocate up to 20 seats to Liberal Democratic Party for the upcoming general election, a senior LDP leader told reporters on Monday.

"We will submit a list of seats on Tuesday to the alliance," said Jahanara Begum, secretary general of LDP, after a meeting with AL president Sheikh Hasina in the evening.

"We firstly wanted 30 electoral constituencies. But they have asked us for names of 20 seats."

A delegation of LDP leaders Jahanara Begum and Rezwan Ahmed joined the meeting with Hasina, AL's acting general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam and presidium member Motia Chowdhury.
