GO and NGOs are working for the quality of secondary education across the country. Particularly BRAC and TQI (Teaching Quality Improvement Project) are providing training of head teachers and teachers. There are other projects doing the same. For example, Shamol Chandra has got 21 days English training from ELTIP (English Language Teaching Improvement Project) last year and he got 21 days English training from TQI this year. You know that there is a great shortage of English Teachers in secondary schools and he took both the training during the opening time of the school. He will take English training from BRAC soon! EiA (English in Action), another secondary education project for English teacher is already working. Who knows Shamol will take English training from EiA very soon! Obviously there are other projects and NGOs also working for the betterment of English teaching-learning situation in secondary schools. Shamol also got English training from B.Ed course three years ago.

Yes, English should get importance. Is it not too much! Why not Math and Science? It is also important how to teach Math and Science in secondary schools. If we see the last year SSC result we find most of the students fail in Math among the unsuccessful candidates. So, Math teaching should get importance as well.

Only one suggestion to save the secondary education!

Last year, we have to repay our loan taka 1400 crore through our budget which is 20 percent of our total budget! The loan is increasing day by day. So, we should use our loan money properly and effectively so that we get maximum output. I would like to draw the attention of concerned authority to take the necessary steps regarding the said problem.
