BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Secretary General Khandker Delwar Hossain yesterday expressed their deep condolences over the death of Afsar Ahmed Chowdhury, senior vice- president, Chittagong north unit of the party.

In her message Begum Zia said late Afsar Chowdhury had played a key role in establishing the ideology of BNP and Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. BNP has lost a dedicated leader.

She conveyed her sympathies to the bereaved family members and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.

In his message, Khandker Delwar also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
