Event: Monirul Islam’s solo exhibition from today

A two-week long solo exhibition titled 'Living Colours and Dancing Lines' featuring artworks of the eminent expatriate artist Monirul Islam will be started at the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in Dhanmondi in the city today.
Justice Habibur Rahman, former chief adviser of the Caretaker Government, is expected to inaugurate the show as chief guest at 6:00pm. Eminent artist Professor Emeritus Mohammad Kibria and Arturo Perez Martinez, Ambassador of Spain in Bangladesh, will be also present as special guests on the occasion.
This was disclosed at a press conference at the Bengal Café in the city yesterday. Luva Nahid Choudhury, Director General of Bengal Foundation, artist Monirul Islam, among others, were present at the conference.
A total of 104 artworks of Monirul Islam are on display at the show. The exhibition will end on December 6. The gallery remains open from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm, said the organisers.

The second episode of weekly talk show 'Women in Politics' to be aired on ATN Bangla at 6:20pm today. The talk show is based on human rights and social issues. A total of 13 episodes will be aired every Monday on ATN Bangla from now. The United Network Ltd (UNL), a communication and consulting company, has produced the television series sponsored by the CIDA and DANIDA. SM Shamim Reza of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University has moderated the episodes, while Sabina Bari Lucky has moderated the programme. Panna receives Swapnalok Swarnakalam

Artiste Golam Nabi Panna has received 'Swapnalok Swarnakamal Award' for his contribution in music. He received the award at a function organized by Swapnalok Abritti Mancha at the TSC Auditorium of Dhaka University recently. Executive Editor of daily Ittefaq Syed Toshrraf Ali was present as chief guest at the function. Lyricist MR Monju, poet Kazi Abu Jafar Siddiqui, among others, were present on the occasion. Recitation artistes Momin Mehedi and Farzana Shanta have directed the show.
A song titled 'Sromojibider Gaan' composed and tuned by Panna is being aired on ETV, Channel 1, My TV and Falgoon Music. Actor Humayun Kaberi has directed the song poetry. Panna has been performing in BTV, Bangladesh Betar, ATN Bangla and various programmes as lyricist, musician, vocalist, painter and actor.

Hollywood: Mila Kunis booked for Denzel Washington thriller

“That '70s Show" veteran Mila Kunis, fresh from her breakout feature role in 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall,' has joined the cast of the Denzel Washington action thriller 'The Book of Eli.'
In the title role, Washington plays a lone hero who must fight his way across the wasteland of a near-future America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity. Kunis plays a woman named Solara, at first enlisted to betray Eli, she ultimately joins him in his quest.
Albert and Allen Hughes are directing the project for Warner Bros. and financier Alcon Entertainment. Principal photography begins in February in New Mexico. Kunis most recently starred opposite Mark Wahlberg in 'Max Payne.'
