Concert: Nulltarif, Black to perform on Nov 24

German young rock band Nulltarif along with Bangladeshi alternative bank Black will perform in a concert at the Goethe Institut in Dhanmondi in the city on November 24.

The concert is a joint event of the Goethe-Institut, PASCH (Partners for the Future, a new school initiative programme from Germany) and Black.

Concert will start at 6:30pm and gate will be opened from 6:00pm. Ticket price of the show is Tk 99. Tickets will be available at the Café Tin Drum at the Goethe-Institut in Dhaka.

Nulltarif means 'for free.' It is also the name of a young rock band from the Stuttgart area, the four musicians, Jules, Danny, Denis and Tobi, regularly give away their hearts- wherever they are given free electricity! Their energy, passion and a style they call 'PussyProck may sound lurid and catchy and may mislead you to expect very explicit, juicy lyrics. Then… surprises you to find that the music alternates between philosophy, melancholy, humour and self-irony: "How to make a gift to your special someone, how to bridge the emotional gap between two people, how to live life your way?" - These are the questions that are moving Nulltarif - No wonder therefore, that everyone who has seen them live in concert is amazed by the flow of passion in their music and lyrics.

TV Watch: Mohanagar on Banglavision

Daily soap 'Mohanagar' to be aired on Banglavision at 8:25pm on Sunday. Ferdous Hasan has scripted the drama and Sajjad Sumon and Ferdous Hasan have jointly directed the serial.

Khairul Alam Sabuj, Afroza Banu, Lutfar Rahman George, Litu Anam, Sumaiya Shimu, Apurbo, Sharmin Shila, Probal, Mahmud Sajjad, Rafiqullah Selim, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Mohanagar:

An aristocratic family of old Dhaka - family of Anfar Mia. Raj is a young man of this family. He is jobless but independent and rebellion in mentality. Once his grandfather Anfar Mia was a popular politician and businessman. His Anfar Manjil is now in dilapidated state. His jointly family is now under threatened condition. His elder son Dalim Mia is a school teacher, middle son Angur Mia is a high government official and younger son Akhrote Mia is a workless. Basically the drama serial represents ups and down of a family, its renaissance and a true reflection of the human realities at a time.

Event: 4th interclub UIU debate begins

The 4th Interclub UIU Debate Championship began at the Auditorium of the United International University (UIU) in the city on Friday.

The UIU Debating Club has organized the contest. More than 30 debating clubs including from Dhaka University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Rajshahi University and Jahangirnagar University are taking part in the contest.

Head of Programme of ATN Bangla Nawajish Ali Khan inaugurated the contest as chief guest, while Vice Chancellor of UIU Dr M Rezwan Khan chaired the competition.

Chairman of Debate for Democracy Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron, Tashik Ahmed, Sumon Ahmed, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Nawajish Ali in his speech said, "There are three types of programmes in television channels - educational, information based and entertainment related. We are successful to air educational programmes."

TV Show: Tuntuni Villa on ETV tonight

New drama serial 'Tuntuni Villa' to be aired on ETV at 8:20pm today. Anwar Hossain Anu has scripted the drama, while Kaisar Ahmed has directed the serial. Fakhrul Hasan Bairagi, Dolly Zahur, Litu Anam, Chanchal Chowdhury, Tomalika Karmaker, Rumana, Mita Nur, Elora Gawhar, Tania, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Tuntuni Villa:

Bashir Uddin Byapari is an old resident of Dhaka city. He has two daughters - Tuntuni and Jhunjhuni. His wife Bulbuli Begum is less educated woman. But her heart is so soft. He named his residence 'Tuntuni Vila.' Two friends Pear and Mohabbat took rent a flat as a tenant in the house.

They gave money to a manpower business to go abroad. But the businessman cheated with them. Then Mohabbat and Pear decided to stay in Dhaka and will run a business. But Bashiruddin and his wife often quarrelled with these two tenants.

In the meantime, brother-in-law of Bashiruddin Kichhlu came from abroad. He made a good relationship with Mohabbat and Pear. The story continues with various incidents.

Rtv airs Priyodarshini

The 18th episode of drama serial 'Priyodarshini' to be aired on Rtv at 9:40pm today. Pranab Bhatta has written the story of the drama, while Nazrul Islam and Arun Chowdhury have jointly scripted and directed the drama serial. Dilara Zaman, Suborna Mustafa, Tazin Ahmed, Amirul Islam, Sharmily Ahmed, Apurbo, Azizul Hakim, Golam Farida Chhanda, Chumky, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Priyodarshini:

Story of the drama serial is based on the lifestyle, activities of women. Women's feelings, emotional values, needs, joys, pains and other matters were reflected in the drama serials. Of these women, someone is mother, someone is sister, someone is bride or some other is girlfriend. In one hand, mother is searching her daughter, on the other hand daughter found her lover and established a new life. Besides, conflicts between husband and wife are found in the drama serial.

Warid starts news service with 3 TV channels

Warid Telecom in cooperation with the country's three premier satellite television channels has launched a value added service recently to provide news services to its subscribers.

Under the new service, both prepaid and post-paid subscribers of Warid telecom will be able to listen the latest news of ATN Bangla, Banglavision and Channel-i by dialling 2010, 1616 and 2626 respectively.

Warid Telecom management hoped that the valued customers will enjoy the service as they will able to get the latest and breaking news from any part of the country just dialling to the designated short codes of the respective television channels.

Warid Telecom, a subsidiary of UAE-based Abu Dhabi Group, launched its commercial operation in Bangladesh in May 10, 2007 as the sixth the mobile phone operator. Within one year, the company spread its network to all the 64 districts.
