Assailants shot dead three tribal people in separate incidents at Boro Modok and Wangthong in Thanchi upazila Monday night.

The dead were identified as Pie Thui Marma, headman of Singafa mouja, and Karbari Chhangdhui Mro, and Rui Rang Mro, of Wangtong para.

Thanchhi UNO Nurulla Nabi said police left for the spot in the morning to recover the bodies. Local people suspected activists of Aarakan Liberal Party (ALP) might have involved in the killings following the deceased persons' involvement with rescuing abducted DANIDA official Sumon two years ago.
