Govt employees' property statement: ACC in dilemma how to resolve them UNB, Dhaka Nearly nine months have elapsed since some 1.2 million government employees and officials have submitted their wealth statements, but the Anti-Corruption Commission is yet to know from the government as to how this matter would be resolved. The last date for submitting wealth statements by the government employees and officials expired on February 29, this year. ACC director general Col Hanif Iqbal told at the regular briefing Thursday afternoon that the Commission sought recommendations from the government as to how to resolve the issue. Based on that, the Cabinet Division asked advice from all the ministries concerned. The anti-graft watchdog is yet to be informed by the Cabinet Division about the feedbacks from the ministries. Hanif said the ACC has so far sent 229 names to the Truth and Accountability Commission (Tac) for considering their clemency applications and another 40 applications were to be sent today (Thursday), the last day for filing clemency applications. Another 25 applications were under process, he said, adding that the list of these individuals was to be sent yesterday and the relevant documents would be sent later. The ACC spokesperson said the Commission has approved issuance of notices to 20 individuals directing them to submit their wealth statements. They include politicians, government officials and an employee of the ACC. Those who are going to receive the notices are Kishoreganj Pourasava Chairman Abu Taher, Pirojpur Pourasava Chairman Habibur Rahman Malek, former Bangladesh Railway additional director general Khurshid Anwar and his wife Samsun Naher, PIO of Rajbari's Pangsha upazila Keramat Ali Biswas and his wife Zannat ul Ferdous, Tajul Islam Mintu of Barisal, his wife Wahida Begum and their son Ershadul Islam Zia, ex-state minister Shajahan Omar's associate Rafiqul Islam Jamal and his wife Farjana Jahan Bithi, ACC data entry operator Shahjahan Ali, Land Ministry employees Faruk Hossain, Nasir Uddin and Mahbubur Rahman, Lokman Mahmud of Segunbagicha, Abdul Malek Matbor of Savar, businessman from Bogra Azizur Rahman Milton and Ainaz Rahman of Rajshahi.
