Politicians urged to ignore foreign diplomats dictation Staff Reporter Speakers at a discussion yesterday urged politicians to ignore the dictation of the foreign diplomats for resolving the country's problems. They said that the political leaders should be imbued with patriotic spirit in addressing the problems of the country and in doing it they must not allow their ego to get upper hand. Their observation came at the discussion on the occasion of the observance of the fifth death anniversary of eminent industrialist Alhaj MA Salam . It was jointly organised by MA Salam Smriti Sangshad and Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) at the VIP lounge of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU). Mohammad Nuruzzaman Munna, president of the Smriti Sangsad, presided over the function while Advocate ANM Yousuf, former MP and president of BML was present as chief guest. They paid glowing tributes to late MA Salam describing him as an honest and kind-hearted person. The discussion was followed by offering of munajat for the peace of the departed soul. It was conducted by Moulana Abu Bakar Siddiquie. It was also, attended, among others, by Col (Retd) AHM Gaffar, former minister and freedom fighter, Shafiul Alam Prodan, president of Jatiya Ganotantrik Party (JAGPA), Advocate Abdul Mobin, Secretary General of Islami Party, Dr Mostafizur Rahman, Secretary General of Labour Party, Qazi Akramuddin, member of Awami League Advisory Council, Advocate Nurul Huq Majumder, Executive President, Qazi Abul Khair, Secretary General, Abdul Aziz Hawlader, senior presidium member, Anwar Hossain Aburi, publicity secretary, SI Islam Milon, organising secretary, Mohammad Qudratullah, former city president, Alhaj Md Sahab Uddin Milon, city president, General Secretaries engineer Md Osman Gani and Mostafizur Rahman and Alhaj Md Hasan Salam Selim, additional secretary general of BML.
