Event: FDC auditorium named after Fazlul Haq

Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) has named one of its auditoriums after late film activist Fazlul Haq. It was decided at a meeting of the BFDC recently. Auditorium of the second floor of the Manna Digital Colour Lab of BFDC named after 'Fazlul Haq Smriti Auditorium.'
Information Secretary Jamil Osman will inaugurate the new auditorium on November 19 (today). Then a documentary on Fazlul Haq will be screened. Shahidul Alam Sacchu has made the documentary.
Memory: Sanjeeb’s 1st death anniversary today

Today is November 19, the fisrt death anniversary of singer, lyricist and journalist Sanjeeb Choudhury. He was one of the two main member of famous Bengali band 'Dalchhut' with Bappa Mazumder. Sanjeeb was instrumental in Dalchhut's four albums and wrote and tuned many songs with his singing and has one solo album named 'Swapnobaji.' He is also a famous journalist and worked for the newspaper Ajker Kagoj, Bhorer Kagoj and Jaijaidin. On November 19, 2007, he died at the Intensive Care Unit of Apollo Hospital in Dhaka after a sudden sickness on 15 November 2007.
To mark the day a memorial meeting will be held at Coffee House in Elephant Road at 3:00pm today. A CD titled 'Tukra Kotha' featuring lyrics of Sanjeeb will be launched under the banner of G-Series at the programme.
Sanjeeb Choudhury was born at Baniachang Upazila in Habiganj on 25 December 1962. He graduated from the journalism department of Dhaka University and orgainsed various cultural programs and taught his classmates many songs during his time at the university. During the mid 90's he and Bappa Mazumder formed their band Dalchhut which within a short time gained immense popularity. In 1996, Dalchhut released their first album.

Country's popular audio, video and music production house Laser Vision recently released a new album 'Kon Ronge Dako Re’ of Mahbub Pial featuring old songs. Shuvayu Sen Majumder has directed the music of the album. There are eight songs in the album. These are - 1) Nimai Chan soinnase choila jai kande shochi mai, 2) Jole giyechhilam soi, 3) Nishate jaio phulo bonere bhromora, 4) Moilana moilanago poti basor korla khali, 5) Bhromor koio giya Sri Ksrishna bichhede anol, 6) Noyon pagol korligo kishori chal udas bone jai, 7) Pakhi sob dale boisa kon ronge dakre and 8) Talash kori dekhna amar mon.
TV Serial: Gulshan Avenue on Banglavision tonight

Drama serial 'Gulshan Avenue' to be aired on Banglavision at 9:45pm today. Nima Rahman has scripted the drama, while Syed Awlad has directed the serial. Sujata, Masud Ali Khan, Tarique Anam Khan, Diti, Mou, Apurbo, KS Firoze, Lina Ahmed, Rosy Siddiqui, Shakiba, Tanjika, Tutul, Shahriar Shuvo, Yusuf Russell, among others, performed in the serial.
Story of Gulshan Avenue:
Ali Reza Chowdhury has three sons -Shahadat, Sharafat and Shafqat. Only Shafqat lives with his parents. Yasmin is wife of Shafqat. They have three sons - Shamim, Nasim and Wasim. Farzana is wife of Shamim. Though he has wife, he is searching another partner. Labony, wife of Nasim, is full of proud as it makes troubles in the family. Younger son Wasim recently married Samia, daughter of a rich man. Grandmother-in-law of Samia does not like her. Farah, sister of Shamim, married Kabir, a promising singer. Event: Memories of Khan Ata recalled Rumana’s CD launched

To celebrate the 80th birth anniversary of legendary filmmaker and musician Khan Ataur Rahman, a memorial meeting was held at the Windy Town of Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the city Monday night. Country's popular audio, video and music production house Laser Vision released a new album titled 'Ostitto' of artiste Rumana Islam, also daughter of Khan Ata, in the function. All songs of the album were composed by Khan Ata.
Noted film actress Kabori Sarwar unveiled the cover of the album. Filmmaker Chashi Nazrul Islam, musicians Sheikh Sadi Khan, Alauddin Ali and Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, Mazharul Islam, Managing Director of Laser Vision, artiste Rumana Islam took part in the discussion and recalled the memories of Khan Ata. Eastern Bank Ltd sponsored the show. Artistes, musicians, media personalities, family members of Khan Ata, among others, were present at the function.
In the album, there are 10 songs. All songs are selected by the artiste Rumana Islam. The songs are - 'Tumi cheyechhile ogo jante,' 'Eki sonar aloi jibon voriye dile,' 'Tomar agune porano e duti chokh,' 'Amake porate jodi eto lage valo,' 'Kuhu kuhu kokila dake,' 'Mon jodi jak kaj jak kichhu bolbo na,' 'Din jai kotha thake,' 'Ekhon ratri kuashar kole prithibi ghumai,' 'Amar thakto jodi pakhir moto dana' and 'Amar na-bola kotha.'
Rumana said, "Of these 10 songs, main singer of the last three songs was my mother Mahbuba Rahman. Singers of the other songs were Basheer Ahmed, Sabina Yasmin, Shahnaz Rahmatullah, Subir Nandi and Abida Sultana. I have tried my level best to sing those songs like them."
Besides, discussion and CD launching, a video clipping of a film performed by Khan Ata and Sumita Devi was presented at the event.
TV Show: Super Hero Super Heroine on Ntv from Nov 27

Talent hunt contest in film titled 'Super Hero Super Heroine' to be aired on Ntv from November 27. It will be aired every Thursday and Saturday. It is a joint initiative by Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC), Market Access and Ntv. Some 10 new pairs (actors and actresses) will be found from this contest.
Among 32,000 contestants 103 contestants reached into second round through 'Ticket to Dhaliwood.' Then 60 contestants were selected for the third round. Shooting of the third round has already been completed.
The first episode will be aired on Ntv at 9:00pm on November 27. Audition and selection round of Chittagong and Rajshahi divisions will be shown in the episode. Debashish Biswas has moderated the show and Tanvir Khan has directed the episodes.
Drama : Rangila Bau on 50-episode

The 50-episode of drama serial 'Rangila Bau' to be aired on ATN Bangla at 9:20pm today. Ahmed Shahabuddin has scripted the drama, while Syed Shakil has directed the serial. Pijush Bondopadhya, Chitralekha Guha, Elora Gawhar, Srabonti, Bonya Mirza, Shams Sumon, Zitu Ahsan, Nasim, Chumky, Shoeb, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Jyoti, Joyraj, among others, performed in the serial.
Story of Rangila Bau:
Jhati Belay is a village in Bhadraghat union where various types of people are living. Some of them are illiterate, needy and simple minded. They do not want to involve any complexity. They want to survive simply. But there are some villagers who want to get the taste of urban life. They are financially solvent and ambiguous. The story of the drama is based on the lifestyle of these villagers.
Bollywood: Celina Jaitley to act in Hollywood movie
Rumours are round the corner, actress Celina Jaitley is going to play opposite to Sean Connery in a Hollywood movie.
Erstwhile James Bond star Sir Sean Connery has signed up to star in Quest of Sheherzade, based on the legendary 1001 Arabian Nights tale, alongside Orlando Bloom (Images), according to reports.
However, now the actor is back with a bang, and the film's female lead, Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley, who will play an Iranian princess, revealed the news.
'Sean Connery is there in the film and recently Orlando Bloom was also signed,' Contactmusic quoted her, as telling British publication The London Paper. The 78-year-old, who had turned his back on acting in recent years, has been missing from the big screen since 2003's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. 'They are planning to start the shooting from January next year,' she added.
