Victoria’s Secret has fashion show in Miami Beach

AP, Miami Beach

Victoria's Secret's angels have descended upon Miami Beach. Singer Usher kicked off the Victoria's Secret show Saturday, which featured 35 supermodels, some wearing angel wings. Models including Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima strutted down the runway at the newly renovated Fontainebleau Miami Beach during the show, which coincided with the opulent reopening of the hotel.

The catwalk glittered and two silver palm trees adorned the stage. Models showed 68 outfits, including the $5 million Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra worn by Lima and designed by jeweler Martin Katz. It is decorated with white and black diamonds and rubies, and will be for sale in the company's catalog, Katz said.

"I always wanted to wear the Fantasy Bra. It's the first time that Victoria's Secret makes a black diamond bra," Lima said. "A woman could definitely buy it if they love it and men too."

Themes in the show included glamorous goddesses and bold colors with geometric designs influenced from the 1920s. Professional dancers wore one-piece bathing suits for one segment and models got playful with Usher when he performed.

There were also designs from the youthful Pink collection, along with pastels, florals and a black tie theme.

Bollywood: I would never default on my work: Sushmita Sen

IANS, Mumbai

Model-turned-actress Sushmita Sen seems to be courting rumours - first, she was dealing with false reports on her marriage and now about missing a shoot for a shampoo ad.

"What do I do with false stories about me? Let them spoil my day? No way! I leave the rumourmongers to deal with their own conscience. That's how well the media knows me," Sushmita told IANS. Sushmita says she no longer endorses the product whose ad shoot she's supposed to have ditched.

"I'd never default on my work. And party while work waited?tThis is toooooo outrageous to be funny. I had no contractual obligation. My contract with the product ended in July. In fact, the last shoot for the product took place in July.

"The best part is I don't endorse that product any longer. My deal with them ended long back. So which Sushmita Sen were they supposed to be waiting for? But then this is small compared with marriage plans that are made for me every month."

"I couldn't allow my life to be spoilt by such absurd reports. First, they say I couldn't attend the shoot for the ad because I was partying the previous night. Then they say the people who were supposed to shoot the ad kept trying to reach me. Anyone who knows me would know I never switch off my cell. And why would they try to get in touch with me? Wouldn't getting to me via my manager be much easier? The actress is currently busy with her home production 'Rani Laxmibai' in which she will play the title role.
