Police recovered dead body of a boy from a ditch near the PRSP School at Alekanda area of the city on Monday morning.

The boy was identified as Imran, 16, son of Mobarak Ali Howladar of Uttar Mogarpara in Kashipur area of the city outskirt.

Police being informed by the local people recovered the dead body and sent to Barisal SBMCH morgue for postmortem.

Solaiman Howladar, brother of the victim, said Imran became missing since Sunday morning after going to Mohanganj Bazaar of Lakutia area about two kilometers away from their home to sell fish.

Hayatul Islam, assistant commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police, said that from primary investigation it was found that bleeding was out from ear and mouth of the boy and perhaps he was strangled to death.
