A letter received here by district Awami League has changed the total scenrario of the political situation of the district. The Awami League activists became more lively than ever before.

The content of the letter signed by Syed Ashraful Islam, Secretary in charge of Cenral Awami League is that the candidate for the coming national election should be chosen from grassroot level. The president and secretary of union and ward committees are the supreme authority to elect a panel of candidates consisting of five names. These who are aspirant to seek nomination from Awami League High Command have to buy a nomination paper spending Tk. 7500/-. Showing the receipt he or she may declare his candidature to the voters of grassroot level.

Having this informaiton, Awami League nomination seekers began to contact to the activists of grassroot level. Local leaders who are neglected for a long time are happy to be evaluated by the leaders.

Professor Gour Chandra Gain, president of Mulia Union AL said, it is our long cherished desire to be evaulated by the organisaiton. This system will help the democracy to be institutionalised. Guest birds who win the party tickets spending a hefty amount of money will be discouraged, he added.
