Dean of diplomatic corps and Ambassador of Switzerland Dora Rapold met with BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday and stressed the need for political stability in the country.

The ambassador declined to talk to the press after coming out of hourlong meeting with Khaleda at her Gulshan office in the evening.

Her adviser Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury said they discussed socio-economic situation and steps to strengthen relationship between the two countries.

"It's our internal mater," Chowdhury said when asked if the ambassador talked about the election. "But the envoy hoped of political stability in the country."
