2 killed in Habiganj road mishap

HABIGANJ, Nov 11: Two people were killed and another was injured when a train rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Nasratpur level-crossing in Sadar upazila Tuesday. Police said Akhaura-bound 'Kushiyara' local train from Sylhet hit the auto-rickshaw while it was crossing the level-crossing at about 12.45 pm, leaving two people, including its driver, dead on the spot and injuring another. One of the deceased was identified as Jasim Khan, 48, hailed from Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district while identity of the driver could not be known immediately, reports UNB.

One killed in Laxmipur road accident

LAXMIPUR, Nov 11: An adolescent boy was killed and five other people were injured as an auto rickshaw overturned at Betua in Ramganj upazila on Ramganj-Haziganj road in the district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Shafiq, 11, of Hazimara of Raypur upazila. Witnesses said when a pick up van hit a Raypur bound auto rickshaw from Haziganj it skid off the road, leaving six auto rickshaw passengers injured. Among the injured, Shafiq died on the way to hospital. The other injured were given first aid, reports UNB.

Madrasah principal hacked to death in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Nov 11: A madrasah principal was hacked to death at village Gharila under Daulatpur thana Sunday midnight. The deceased was identified as Maulana Nurul Islam, 40, founder principal of Umme Kulsum Dakhil Madrasah. Police recovered the body on Monday and sent it to Manikganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.
