'Kazi Motahar Hossain Memorial Speech' was held at the auditorium of Statistics Department of Dhaka University on Tuesday.

Kazi Motahar Hossain Foundation organised the speech on "Kazi Motahar Hossain: Science Practice and its Spirit" where Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof Dr SMA Faiz spoke as chief guest.

Professor of Bangla Department of Islami University Abul Ahsan Chowdhury gave memorial speech in the function with Dr AR Khan of Statistics Department in the chair.

Chairman of Statistics Department of the university Dr M Mazharul Islam, Prof Dr Sanzida Khatun and the family members of Motahar Hossain, among others, were present on the occasion.

After ending the programme, three students of the Statistics Department were given Motahar Hossain Award for their outstanding performance.

The awardees students are Anupam Datta (2004), late Nayan Chandra Pal (2005) and Nahid Sultana Sumi (2006).
