Event: Krishi Taroka to begin soon: ATN Bangla honoured 20 artistes of Magic Tin Chakar Taroka

ATN Bangla is going to start a new musical contest for farmers named 'Krishi Taroka' after successful completion of Magic Tin Chakar Taroka contest.

This was announced at an honour giving ceremony organised by ATN Bangla at Prince Restaurant in Sobhanbagh in the city on Sunday. ATN Bangla honoured 20 participant artistes of 'Magic Tin Chakar Taroka' award.

Chairman of ATN Bangla Dr Mahfuzur Rahman was present as chief guest at the function, while media personnel, politicians, artistes, among others, were present on the occasion.

Nawajish Ali Khan, Adviser (Programme) of ATN Bangla, Saiful Bari, Chief Adviser of the channel, among others, spoke at the ceremony.

Later magic stars Omar Ali, Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Abdur Rahman Khokon, Rafiqul Islam, Aynal Haque, Raquib Hossain, Ripon, Nazrul Islam, Firoz, Faisal Khan, Emarat Hossain, Shahin Sarkar, Jewel Hawlader, Golap Hossain, Hamidul Islam, Sohag Hossain, Badal Hossain, Ziaul Haque Zia and Anwar Hossain rendered songs at the function.

But while staying abroad they have to face a lot of sufferings there. The story of the drama serial is based on those feelings and sufferings.

Noted writer and columnist Sinha MA Sayeed, formally launched his website www.sinha-ounitednations.com at his Lalmatia's office in the city recently.

This is an effort to widen its reach to writers, academics, researchers, publishers and other interested people from our country and across the globe. A critically acclaimed book, 'O United Nations' is a collection of three prose poems that will give the readers a real taste of modern, that is, modernist poetry. The work is a sharp evaluation and focuses on the past, present and future of the United Nations. Sinha M A Sayeed has segmented his book into three parts. The first relates the beginning stage of the United Nations and its preliminary activities worldwide. Sayeed depicts the true picture of the United Nations as it appears before us in the second part of his work. In the third part of the book, he wishes to see a world where there is freedom from war, famine, crime, drug trafficking and, in fact, the entire gamut of unlawful activities.

Hollywood: Michelle Williams’ father to be extradited to US

Michelle Williams' father, a prominent stock market trader, agreed Tuesday to return to the United States to face tax evasion charges. Larry Williams has been fighting extradition since he was arrested by Australian police in 2006 after flying to Sydney for a speaking tour in Australia and New Zealand. He has been free on bail. The US Internal Revenue Service wants to question the 65-year-old Virgin Islands resident about a possible $1.5 million in unpaid taxes from book royalties and earnings related to international seminars he conducted between 1990 and 2001. Sydney's The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported that Williams will leave for Los Angeles on Wednesday. "I will fight this and win," Williams said before sheriffs escorted him from court. "I will be back - I have a lot of friends here in Australia." Michelle Williams received an Oscar nomination as best supporting actress for her performance in the 2005 film 'Brokeback Mountain,' play ing the wife of Heath Ledger's character. Ledger, who died from an accidental prescription drug overdose in January, is the father of her 3-year-old daughter Matilda Rose, Larry Williams' granddaughter.

Bollywood: Tannishtha’s performance draws immense attention

Raja Menon's controversial film Barah Anna starring Tannishtha Chatterjee, who's also known as queen of parallel cinema, dares to put across your face the other side of India.
