The Council of Advisers of the caretaker government Sunday approved the Writing on Wall and Poster Pasting Control Ordinance 2008 for effectively checking election campaign by such means by candidates.

Commercial advertisement through wall writing and poster attaching by private institutions and commercial organizations will now come under legal framework through this new law, approved by the council in principle.

"The ordinance has been framed to help enforce the restrictions imposed on the writing on wall and pasting poster by election contestants under the electoral code of conduct recently promulgated," it is stated in the objective of the Ordinance.
