Bangladesh Football team leaves for Myanmar today

Bangladesh National Football team leaves the city for Myanmar today to take part in the encuing Third Grand Royal Challenge Cup scheduled to be held in Myanmar from November 11 to November 21.

Yesterday players of Bangladesh Football team took part in the fullfledged practice session under supervision of National Coach Shafiqul Islam Manik at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. During the practice session Manik told this reporter that they had completed their practice as the players of the National team played in the Citycell B League.

Manik said, " My expectation is my boys will play 90 minutes with confidence and will show a good performance in the upcoming tournament."

The Coach said, " Their are some lackings in confidence and in fitness in his some players. His target is to show positive approach and also defend against his opponents."

He said," If his players can show better brand of football then, they can bring something for the football lovers of the country."

A total of six teams splitting into two groups will take part in the forthcoming football meet. The tournament starts on November 11 and will come to an end on November 21.

Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar have been taken place in Group A while Vietnam, Hyundai, Malaysia have been billed in Group B.

Bangladesh will face Myanmar in their first Group A match on November 11.

Bangladesh will meet Indonesia in their second Group A match on November 13.

The champions of the Group A will take on the runners-up of the Group B in the first semifinal on November 18 while the champions of the Group B will meet the runners-up of the Group A in the second semifinal on November 19.

The winners of the two semifinals will face each other in the final on November 21.

Bangladesh squad: Motiur Munna (captain), Aminul Haq, Biplob Bhattacharya, Rajani Kanta Barman, Mohammad Sujan (vice captain), Wali Faisal, Ariful Islam, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Enamul Haq Sharif, Kazi Mozammel Hossain Saikat, Mamunul Islam Mamun, Zahid Hasan Emily, Mohammad Robin, Zahid Hossain, Arman Aziz, Alfaz Ahmed, Atiqur Rahman Mishu and Zahed Pervez Chowdhury.

Officials - Badal Roy (manager), Shafiqul Islam Manik (coach), Golam Rabanni Chhoton (assistant coach), Mahfuz Ullah Chisty (team doctor) and Ahmed Syed Al Fatah (media manager).
