At least five workers were injured when a homemade bomb exploded at an under-construction market building in city's Sutrapur area yesterday.

Police said, some unknown persons exploded the bomb on the second floor of the under-construction market building at Kaptanbazar where the five workers were working at about 11:45am.

The miscreants fled the scene after the blast that left Nasir, 22, Shakil, 21, Emran, 24, Polash, 14, and Monir, 15 wounded. They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment of minor wounds, locals said.

Police is investigating into the incident and the motive behind the blast.
