A memorial meeting and cultural function was held to commemorate the artiste Abdul Latif at the Auditorium of Dance and Music Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the city on November 3.

Eminent folk researcher Prof Mansur Musa was present as chief guest, while former director of Bangladesh Betar Ashraful Alam was present as speaker on the occasion. They discussed on life and activities of Abdul Latif.

Director General of Bangla-desh Shilpakala Academy Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam chaired the meeting, while Director of Dance and Music Centre of the Academy Sunil Chandra Das also spoke at the function. After the discussion, a cultural function was held where artistes Mina Barua, Ashutosh Adhikari, Anima Mukti Gomez, Bipul Bhattacharya, Rumana Akhter Ruma and Arif Dewan presented solo, while artistes Jahanara Begum Runu, Joyanta Mukherjee Shibu, Aparna Poddar, Rebeka Sultana, Sangeeta Sultana and Shipra Das performed as chorus songs at the function.
