JU Physics Department Alumni Association celebrated its 1st re-union on 31st October last at the department's premises with festive mood and gala occasion. Physics department area took a colourful festive mood. Lot of alumni, their family and JU teacher & students were gathered and enjoyed the programmes whole day.

The Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor Dr. Mohammed Muniruzzaman formally inaugurated the day long programe as chief guest while Dean of Mathematical & Physical Sciences Faculty Professor Dr. Mahmuda Gani Ahmed was present as special guest.

After inauguration a colourful rally brought out from department in the morning and paraded through the campus. Chairman of the Department Professor S M Azharul Islam, Profr Mir Md. Akramuzzaman, Prof Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Prof A A Mamun spoke the inaugural session. After inaugural session a discussion & reception was held to the philanthropist. The philanthropist are Prof Afrozi Unus and Professor Dr. Md. Dilder Hossain. Latter a grand cultural function was held at the JU auditorium.
