Two alleged dacoits were beaten to death at Skura village in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district on Saturday midnight. The Victims were identified as Shaheed (32) and Ishaq (38) hailing from village Dubail in the same upazila.

Locals and police siad a gang of dacoits comprising 20 to 25 members committed dacoity at two/three hours including the house of one Muslim member of village Sakhara at around 3 a.m. When the gang was committing dacoity local people informed the police station. Police rushed to the spot and gheraoed the gang with the help of local people.

At one stage, the robbers fired about six rounds of bullets to ease their way to flee the scene. Police also fired back rounds of blank shots, while the gang was running away. Police along with the people chased them and caught two of the gang after a long chase Locals started beating the indiscriminately killing them on the spot. Police recovered a foreign pistol, four bullets and other plundered valuables, including mobile sets, cash takas gold ornaments from the victim's possession. Three separate cases including a murder and a dacoity were registered in this connection. Police Super visited the spot.
