German Trade Show begins Thursday

UNB, Dhaka

Around 62 exhibitors, including 58 business firms, will participate in the first-ever 'German Trade Show', beginning here Thursday.

Commerce Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the show at the China Friendship Conference Centre.

Saiful Islam, President of Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI), said this at a press conference Sunday.

"The show will bring the two countries a bit closer to know each other, and will crate more new opportunities to expand trade ties between the two countries," the BGCCI president said.

Saiful Islam hoped that the show would also encourage German companies and investors to outsource the production of intermediary products to Bangladesh.

The trade show includes a series of presentations to be made by German and Bangladesh experts covering various aspects of German-Bangladesh trade, including a high-profile roundtable titled 'Social Market Economy: A Model for Bangladesh, Saiful told reporters.

The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) in cooperation with the German Embassy-Dhaka and GTZ has organized the three-day show.

The exhibitors will inform visitors about their German business, products and services available for Bangladesh and about Bangladeshi products and services available for German market.
