TAC clemency deadline extended

The Truth and Accountability Commission (Tac) has extended the deadline till November 16 for the corrupt to apply for clemency in return for their ill-gotten wealth to avert punishment under the clean-up drive.

A government announcement on Sunday said that taking increasing interest of the concerned into consideration the Commission extended the deadline from October 30 to November 16 for making voluntary disclosure of wealth by corrupt persons.

"The timeframe for disclosing information will not be extended anymore," it said, adding that the extended deadline would be also applicable for the reference cases.

With this extension, the Tac extended the deadline for the third time. Initially, the deadline was set on September 1, which was later extended to September 30. Later, the last date was further extended to October 30.
