Punthipather Asar held at Kishoreganj Alam Sarowar Tito, Kishoreganj A 'Punthipather Asar' was held at Dehunda High School Ground at Karimganj in Koshoreganj on October 26. Bangla Folk Media and Chishtia Shilpi Goshthi jointly organised the session to commemorate country's one of the prominent 'Punthi' artiste Munshi Azimuddin Hanafi. The programme began with the slogan of 'Save Folk Songs.' Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Shorful Alam was present as chief guest at the function, while Dr Syed Mohammad Shahed, Director General of Bangla Academy and Bhuiyan Shafiqul Islam, Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, were present as special guests on the occasion. ASM Mahbubul Alam, DC of Kishoreganj, Banomali Bhowmik, Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Secretary) of Kishoreganj, Mohammad Atiqur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Kishoreganj, Sayed Milki, Communication Specialist of UNICEF, Muhammad Abdur Rashid Bhuiyan, writer of life-sketch of Munshi Azimuddin, Faruk Shahriar, Executive Director of Bangla Folk Media, among others, were present at the function. Abdul Kuddus Boyati, folk artiste and Chairman of Bangla Folk Media, chaired the event. Eminent lyricist Golam Rabbani (Panu) and folk collector Md Saleh Ahmed coordinated the programme, while Kibria Khokon and Motiur Rahman Bhuiyan moderated the show.
