Call to make mosque-based child education more dynamic

Speakers at a divisional seminar here on Saturday called for making the mosque-based child and mass education programme more dynamic in the greater interest of making the nation free from the curse of illiteracy. In this context, they urged upon the local Administration and mosque management be mademore effective and viewed that a collective effort is a must to make the programme a success.

Terming the mosque as the centre point for the Muslims they said the holy place should be transformed into the place of moral learning as Islam has no room for illiteracy.

They were addressing the seminar styled "Mosque-based child and mass education programme: Success and prosperity" arranged by Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) at the conference hall of Imam Training Academy.

Commissioner of Rajshahi Division Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan addressed the seminar as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Dr Jahangir Alam in the chair.

IFB Deputy Director (Naogaon) Syed Amin Uddin Mahmud presented the keynote paper on the topic while Divisional Director Abdus Shakur made the welcome address.

Among others, Principal of Government City College Professor Dr KN Shajahan Karim, Associate Professor Dr Tareque Toufiqur Rahman of Political Science of Rajshahi University and Additional Registrar of RU Dr Sheikh Shaad Ahmed spoke on the occasion moderated by Deputy Director of the project Monjurul Karim Chowdhury.

Speakers termed the child education as the foundation of all higher educations and said the foundation must be strengthened to make the higher educations more effective.
