A two members delegation of the Wemos Foundation of the Netherlands on Sunday visited Sirajganj Sadar upazila to observe the health budget monitoring progress of Development Organisation of the Rural Poor (DORP).

The monitoring is mean for ensuring the participation of local people to health improvement quality of government health service. The members of the delegation were Cily Keize and Maniska Meurs. Besides Abdul Halim, adviser, Babul Adhikary, central coordinator, Md Zobair Hasan, researcher and Amir Khusru, coordinator on health budget monitoring project-DORP were present.

A meeting held in this connection was addressed by Civil Surgeon (Retd) Dr Abdul Mannan, Abdur Rashid, Abdul Halim Anu, Md Mohabbat Alam, Maqsuda Khanam with local Union Parisad Chairman Saiful Alam Sarkar in the chair.

The delegation inquired about the well-being of two mothers who are getting maternity allowance.

The members of the delegation sought to know impacts of health budget monitoring programme on the government health services.

Later, they visited the Union Family Planning Office and the Union Health Centre.
