The Jagannath Hall authorities arranged a voluntary blood donation programme on Saturday to mark the October 15 Dhaka University (DU) mourning day.

On this day in October 15, 1985 a total of 39 students, employees and guests were killed when the roof of the assembly building (now October Smriti Bhaban) collapsed on them. They were watching television at that time.

DU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor AFM Yusuf Haider inaugurated the programme as the chief guest while Jagannath Hall Provost Dr Ajoy Kumar Das presided it.

A large number DU student donated their blood in the programme.
