Fire burns 35 houses in Kishoreganj

Fire gutted 35 dwelling houses at Alinagar village in Austagram upazila here on Friday midnight.

Police said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in the house of Mokhtar Miah of the village and soon engulfed the adjoining houses.

Police and local people brought the blaze under control after four hours of frantic efforts. Officer-in-Charge of Austagran thana Jahirul Islam said the extent of loss could go up to Tk 1 crore.
