Police recovered 25,000 cft sundari timber and arrested two smugglers at Jalirpar village in Muksudpur upazila Friday night.

Patrol police of Sindia Ghat Investigation Centre challenged Aziz, 22, and Shukur Ali, 25, while they reached at Jalirpar from Khulna with the timber by a trawler at about 11pm. As they failed to show valid documents police arrested them and seized the timber. A case was filed.

In another drive police seized 511 bottles of Indian phensidyl syrup from the house of Dhirendra Majumder in Pirerbari area of Kotalipara upazila on Saturday night.
