Buriganga Arts and Crafts in collaboration with Arte Boccanera and Gallery Civica of Italy organised a week-long workshop and exhibition in Italy.
The workshop and exhibition was inaugurated on October 22. Italian artist Annamaria Gelmi is conducting the workshop in Trento in Italy.
Among others, artist Prof Samarjit Roy Choudhury will attend the programme as special guest. From Bangladesh other participating artists are - Zohurul Islam (Sheikh Zohur), Saniul Haque Bhuiyan Neon, Zobaida Naznine Ela, Hafiz Muhammad Ismail Liton, Patrick D'Costa, Razib Hossain, Mashiur Rahman, Shahadat Hossain and Anisur Rahman.
The workshop and exhibition will be curated by Rafique Sulayman, Giorgia Lucchi and Dr Eva L Maffei.
The workshop will end on October 28.

Celebrity related weekly talk show 'Talk Chart' to be aired on ATN Bangla at 2:30pm today. It will be first episode of the show. Tanvir Tareque has planned, scripted and moderated the show. Shahina Akhter is producer of the programme.
In each episode a journalist and two celebrity artistes will be present at the show. They will discuss on the recently published news and features. In first episode popular TV actress Tarin, Managing Editor of daily Ittefaq and Editor of weekly Binodon Arshad Hossain and playwright Chayanika Chowdhury will be present as guests.
Besides, TV celebrities Sumaiya Shimu, Anisur Rahman Milon and artiste Agun will be also present in other part of the show and exchange their opinions. Film actress Rumana and Editor of weekly Anandadhara Arun Chowdhury will take part in the telephone segment part of the show.
Event: Drama week starts at RU

Department of Music and Drama of Rajshahi University (RU) has started a seven-day long drama programme from on Sunday directed by students of masters of the department at campus.
The Vice Chancellor of RU Prof Dr Mamnunul Keramot inaugurated the programme.
On the occasion, they held a colourful rally in the morning with teachers and students of the department on the first day of the programme.
During the festival each drama will be staged daily at 6:15pm at the theatre lab of the department till October 25.
Dramas 'Mukhosh,' (Death and the Maiden) directed by Farukur Rahman, 'Miss Juli,' directed by Aminur Islam, 'Eyein,' directed by Robiul Hasan Prodhan, 'Mukti,' directed by Ismat Ara Bhuiyan, 'Namanus,' directed by Biplob Sarker, 'Molua' (Mymensingh Geetika), planed and acted by Sohrab Ali and 'Chhayahin Kaya,' directed by Amiruzzaman will be staged at the week-long programme.
Ataur Rahman Raju, teacher of the department of Music and Drama of RU, said "In the festival, dramas will be staged with the participation of the teachers and final year students. We will organise this kind of program every year to encourage the students on drama and drama related activities."

Ntv will air drama serial 'Brishtir jonno' at 9:45pm today. Pantha Shahriar has scripted the 26-episode drama serial, while Amlan Biswas has directed it.
Aupi Karim, Abul Hayat, Ferdousi Majumder, Tropa Majumder, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shams Sumon, Shatabdi Wadud, Intekhab Dinar, Raunak Hasan, among others, performed in the serial.

Event: Orientation at ULAB

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised an orientation program for the newly enrolling students in Fall 2008 semester at their own campus in Dhanmondi in the city recently.
The program was designed in a different way in order to ensure active involvement of the fresher's who came to study in ULAB from different institutions. The different segments of the program included a library video created by students of the ULAB focusing on the facilities provided by state of the art library of the university. This was followed by a presentation on career vision where the students learned about the facilities provided by the university to help them build better careers in the future.
The orientation involved group work by the fresher's where the faculties involved them in various quiz games. Students participated in the games and enjoyed a whole new experience in the program.
Vice Chancellor of the ULAB Prof Rafiqul Islam welcomed the fresher's in his welcome address and Pro-VC Imran Rahman also spoke on the occasion.

Toni Braxton will no longer break it down on 'Dancing with the Stars.'
The singer and her professional partner, Alec Mazo, were eliminated Tuesday from ABC's popular dancing competition. The pair received a score of 22 out of 30 from the show's judges during Monday's performance after a respectable West Coast swing routine.
The 'Unbreak My Heart' crooner was booted after that score was combined with viewer votes. "My goal was reached," said Braxton, who has coronary micro vascular angina, after she was dismissed.
"I wanted to do better. I wanted to breathe better. And I was definitely breathing better. I've come a long way from Week One to Week Now." Celebrities remaining in the competition include TV personality Brooke Burke; singer Lance Bass; former NFL star Warren Sapp; Olympic gold medallist Maurice Greene; actor Cody Linley; and actresses Cloris Leachman and Susan Lucci.
Chef Rocco DiSpirito, reality TV stars Kim Kardashian, actor Ted McGinley and comedian Jeffrey Ross were previously eliminated.
