'The New Nation' is the most responsible newspaper in our society. I hope you would be generous to write a feature report on government negligence on infrastructures development of higher education institutes in Barisal Division where there is only one medical college for six districts, no dental college, no full-fledge public university, no engineering and technology college when some districts are going to get medical colleges, public universities, engineering college.

Once upon a time, Barisal was the granary of the country but due to some negative bureaucracies the previous government was unable to establish an Agriculture University in Barisal. This division has one of the highest literacy rates in country whereas the government is still to provide some higher educational institutions for this division.

Barisal Division demands a full-fledged public university, an engineering and technology college, upgradation of the existing textile institute into a college, establishment of the proposed leather technology college, a modern dental college, a medical college including 500-bed hospital in Patuakhali district, a regional campus of the Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University of Dhaka in Barisal, a teachers' training college at Patuakhali, a marine technology college and a tourism and hospitality management institute in Barisal.
