The World Food day & Telefood 2008 was observed on Thursday in the country as elsewhere across the globel, when recent food crisis and riots still haunt the human kind.

Agriculture Department organised a seminar on World Food Security, the challenges of climate change and Bio-Energy in the context of the present perspective held at local Collectrate conference room on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner ASM Mahabubul Alam attended as chief guest with DLO Md. Nurul Islam in the chair. It was addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of Agriculture Md. Kafiluddin, Md. Mohasin and District Food Controller Parimal Shaha.
