33 people arrested in Rajshahi

Rahsgagu: Oct 16: Police, in different anticrime drives, nabbed 33 people on various charges from different areas in city and nine upazilas of the district in last 24 hours till yesterday evening, police said. Of them, 17 were arrested from different areas in the metropolis while 16 others from nine upazilas. Traffic police lodged 30 cases under the motor vehicles ordinance and seized a motorbike without registration during drives against the non-registered motor vehicles and other document related malpractices in different parts of the city during the time, report BSS.

CU classes resume after vacation

Chittagong Oct 6: Chittagong University (CU) classes resumed on Thursday after a month- long Ramadan and Puja vacation. Scheduled examinations also took place, campus sources said. Students' attendance was normal, they added. Proctor Dr Mohammad Jasim Uddin described the campus atmosphere as "quite normal." But, he said, the authorities arranged tight security on the campus to avoid untoward incidents, report BSS.
