6 shops, jute godown gutted in Narail

Six shops including a jute godown were gutted in a fire at Lohagara Bazar in Narail district on Thursday night at about 8 PM.

The fire originated from a jute godown where about 350 maunds jute were stored and rapidly spread to six adjoining shops, said owner of the godown Sirajul Islam.

A firefighting unit from Narail Fire Station rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one hour and a half. The estimated loss of the fire is about 10 lakh.
