Secretary of the Ministry of Planning Jafar Ahamed Chowdhury on Thursday underscored the need for proper implementation of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for smooth development of the country.

He said this while exchanging views with the government officials on progress of the ADP projects in the district. Deputy Commissioner Md Ziaur Rahman Khan gave the address of welcome at the meeting.

The planning secretary reviewed the progress of ADP and gave some instructions for proper implementation of the development projects within the stipulated period.

Mayor Mahmud Al Noor Tarek, Additional Deputy Commissioners Md Mohsin and Ratanchandra Pandit, Additional Police Super Aktaruzzaman and Civil Surgeon Dr Shamsul Alam, among others, were present.

Later, he attended a function at local Shilpakala Academy where GPA-5 holders of the Sadar upazila were accorded a reception. He distributed certificates and crests among the GPA 5 holders.
