Mayor Mohiuddin's daughter dies in Bangkok
Chittagong Mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury left Shah Amanat Airport yesterday to see his daughter Tumpa at Bangkok hospital where she was declared dead. FocusBangla Chittagong Correspondent Fauzia Sultana Tumpa, eldest daughter of Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, died at a hospital in Bangkok yesterday afternoon. A 6th semester student of English Language and Literature at Premier University in the city had long been suffering from acute leukemia. She was taken to Foteh Hospital in Bangkok nearly two months ago. Tumpa breathed her last at about 2:00 p.m. BST before arrival of her parents in Bangkok. Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury reportedly notified about Tumpa's death slightly before boarding the aircraft in Dhaka. The Mayor and his eldest son finally flew to Bangkok. Her body is expected to be brought to Chittagong on Saturday.
