New drama serial 'Apon ghore porobash' to be aired on Rtv at 9:40pm today. Aftab Bin Tamiz has scripted the drama, while Kaisar Ahmed has directed it.

Shahiduzzaman Selim, Tania Ahmed, Shoeb, Joy, Deepa Khondaker, ATM Shamsuzzaman, Chitralekha Guha, Faruk Ahmed and others performed in the drama serial.

Story of Apon ghore porobash:

Bikar Khan is the head of a high-class family. He has his wife Ayna Begum and two daughters - Antora and Sanchari, two servants and brother-in-law. Whole family is a parliament. Monir and Imran, who completed their study recently, were searching jobs and house in the city. They moved elsewhere in the city. Then they decided to get marriage with a daughter of a rich man. In the meantime, Bikar Khan declared that a man is coming from USA. But he did not disclose his name to them. At the last stage of the drama daughter of his previous wife Nila came to his house. The 26-episode drama serial will end then.

Event: Lalon Mela in Kushtia

Lalon Mela 2008, sponsored by Banglalink, was inaugurated on October 16 in Kushtia. The annual cultural festival is traditionally held to observe the birth anniversary of legendary baul music king 'Fakir Lalon Shah' in the third week of October every year. It has established itself as one of the largest cultural festival of the country.

Cabinet Secretary Ali Imam Majumder inaugurated the festival as chief guest, while Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Md Yunus-ur-Rahman, police super Mosleh Uddin, TNO Dhirendranath Dutta and PR and Communication Manager of Banglalink Sharfuddin Ahamed Chowdhury, among others, were present at the inauguration of the three-day event.

The fair, which is enormous size, was first organised 100 years ago. Lalon Shah is lauded as the icon of baul music, a type of folk song and now a cultural movement, all over the country and India. He is also considered as the founder of the 'baul' religion. The event has now become widely popular and is known for its entertainment.

To celebrate the event, hundreds of bauls as well as thousands of people from all over the country gathered at the Lalon Complex situated in the suburban area of Kushtia town. The fair will include a folk music competition among the bauls, a musical concert with the expected participation of famous artistes, trade fair and others. During the three days event more that one lakh visitors attended.

TV Serial : ATN Bangla airs Sagai tonight

The third episode of drama serial 'Sagai' to be aired on ATN Bangla at 8:00pm today. M Sakhawat Hossain has scripted and directed the drama.

Mamunur Rashid, Joyonta Chattapaddhya, SM Mohsin, Anisur Rahman Milon, Apurbo, Pran Roy, Joyotika Joyoti, Borsha, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Sagai:

Kholahati is a village. Fifty percent of the people of this village are potter. They make ceramic dishes, toys and other items and then sell those items. Ketoki is an aggressive female character in the village. She has lost her mother and besides pottery works she can render songs. She had a troupe in this regard. The story continues with various incidents.

Special drama 'Ekdiner raja' to be aired on Ntv at 9:00pm today. Muhammad Jafar Iqbal has written the drama, while Abdullah Rana has directed it. Aly Zaker, Eresh Zaker, Momo, among others, performed in the drama.

Story of Ekdiner raja:

Raju is a student of the university and living in a mess. He has to pass his days with shortage of money. Incidentally he met industrialist Azhar Ali. Azhar Ali liked him. He wanted to give him a job in his firm in a condition. According to the condition, he has to spend Tk one lakh in every day. Raju thought that it is an easy task. But he found that this work was so tough. Then he found a human solution.

Hollywood: TI has dual No 1s but claims underdog status

Although TI owns both the No. 1 album and single in the country, the platinum-selling rapper says he still feels like the underdog.

"Nobody has ever given me a win and nobody has ever said, 'TI, you know he's going to do this thing.' They always (say), 'He's not going to do this much, he's not going to do that good, I don't believe he'll do that well.' So its always been an uphill battle for me no matter how big I get I'm always the underdog," he said in an interview.

But the 28-year-old may not be able to claim that underdog title for long. His latest CD, 'Paper Trail,' sold more than 560,000 copies in its first week to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album charts, and his newest single, 'Live Your Life' featuring Rihanna, supplanted the album's first single, 'Whatever You Like,' at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The 28-year-old rapper made the comments before taking the stage at Diesel's 30th birthday celebration in Brooklyn, NY, on Saturday night. The circus-themed event for the apparel company featured mash-up performances; other artists performing included NERD, Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, Chaka Khan and MIA, who performed her breakthrough Top 10 hit, 'Paper Planes."

Other celebrities in attendance included Lindsay Lohan, 'Gossip Girl' co-stars Chace Crawford and Taylor Momsen, actresses Emma Roberts and Zoe Kravitz, and former Destiny's Child member Michelle Williams.

TI also performed a song with the pregnant MIA, and called the lyricist "the hottest rap chick in the game right now, period." TI recently sampled 'Paper Planes' for collaboration with Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. The song, 'Swagga Like Us,' appears on 'Paper Trail.'

TI said the collaboration between the top rappers is a reflection of the respect they have for one another. The rapper, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was sentenced to one year in prison on federal weapons charges after he was arrested last October before the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta for allegedly trying to buy automatic weapons. He is scheduled to start his prison sentence in March 2009 after completing 1,000 hours of community service.
