A court here Thursday fixed October 20 for hearing on framing charges against Chittagong City Corporation Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury in two corruption cases.

Chittagong Special Tribunal Judge SM Solaiman fixed the date for charge frame hearing in the two cases filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

ACC filed the cases against the Mayor for corruption in fixing the rate of hire for the garbage carrying truck and for earth filling in the graveyard of Nasirabad area in the port city.

Meanwhile, the Judge relieved Mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury from personal appearance in the court in a tax evasion case filed by National Board of Revenue (NBR).
