Two timber traders held for giving bribe in N’ganj BSS, Narayanganj Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested two timber traders from Adamzee Nagar area of the district while trying to give bribe to the RAB members for releasing a truck seized by them. Police sources said, the arrested were Shafiqul Islam, 40, of Sardarpara village of Munshiganj district and Ruhul Amin, 45, of Maheshpur village of the same district. Sources said, the RAB members seized the truck loaded with illegal segun teak from Dhaka-Chittagong highway near Siddhirganj on October 9 while coming towards Dhaka. The timber traders were arrested when they were trying to give Taka 30,000 to RAB members Abdul Aziz and Rafique as bribe to get release of the seized truck, the sources said. They are now in police custody at Siddhirganj thana.
